The Return

Another pic for the imaginefx challenges this one was titled "The Return" , started late with this one but it's ok I guess. I was pretty stuck for an Idea for a while. Then I remembered a pretty cool 'return' in the Richard Matheson book 'I am Legend' where the main character buries his dead wife in a shallow grave to avoid throwing her into the mass pyre as demanded by the authorities. A while later she comes scraping back at his door. transformed into an undead creature afflicted with the 'vampire' sickness. The Scene I wanted to draw was the doorway scene but I just couldn't get it to work well, the horror of it wasn't visual it was the emotional impact on him, so I shifted focus to the scene of her rebirth (which was never more than implied in the book) as an undead creature having to claw itself out of the dirt...
